The Head of Civil Service, Anambra State, Ngozi Añuli Iwouno, Esq., mni, has reiterated the Anambra State Workforce’s unwavering support for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s, (CFR) State of Emergency on the Environmental initiative.

Iwouno made this known in a statement issued from her office in Awka on July 2, noting that the workforce remains committed to advancing the Governor’s vision of a cleaner, healthier and flood resilient Anambra through active participation in environmental sanitation and desilting exercises across the state regularly.

She further noted that Civil Servants have responsibilities beyond their offices, urging workers to champion environmental cleanliness, proper waste disposal, routine drainage maintenance, while encouraging parents to discourage dumping refuse inside gutters.

According to the Head of Service, the workforce has fully keyed into the government’s environmental agenda because, preventing flooding demands collective responsibility, discipline and sustained commitment from every resident across Anambra State.

She encouraged Civil Servants to participate actively in the statewide environmental sanitation and desilting exercise scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., complying with all directives.

The Civil Service boss explained the exercise offers communities, businesses and institution opportunities to clear blocked drainage channels, evacuate waste, restore free water flow and minimise flooding before heavier rainfall intensifies statewide.

She also urged workers to report landlords who refuse to comply with Governor Soludo’s environmental cleanup initiative, stressing that everyone must support government’s effort toward maintaining clean surroundings and preventing environmental degradation.

She commended Governor Soludo’s proactive environmental policies as strategic intervention towards protecting lives, preserving infrastructure, improving public health and promoting sustainable development, while calling on Ndi Anambra to support the initiative wholeheartedly.

Iwouno then reaffirmed that the Anambra State Workforce will remain fully behind Governor Soludo’s environmental vision, working together to build a cleaner, greener and a livable homeland, guaranteeing reduced flooding and a safer future for generations.
