Dr. Ben Chuks Odoemena is an agricultural economist and agribusiness development specialist with extensive experience in rural development, agricultural value chains and private-sector-led agriculture.

He began his career in 1991 as a Planning Officer with the Federal Government of Nigeria. He later worked with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), where he worked on rural-sector and business-promotion programmes.

Before joining the Anambra State Executive Council, he worked with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), where he contributed to agricultural programmes and country strategies across Nigeria, The Gambia, Ghana and Ethiopia. He has also worked with the EU, African Development Bank and World Bank on development projects.

Dr. Odoemena holds a PhD and MSc in Agricultural Economics and a BSc in Crop Production from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
