Dr. Ekene Longinus Ogugua is a pharmaceutical and biotechnology professional with experience spanning industry, academic research, scientific development and administration.

He studied Biochemistry at Nnamdi Azikiwe University before earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Hull, United Kingdom. He later obtained a PhD in Biopharmaceutical Technology from De Montfort University’s Leicester School of Pharmacy.

His professional career includes leadership of advanced technology teams, scientific programme coordination and involvement in establishing biotechnology and diagnostic facilities in the United Kingdom. He has also worked in capacity building, project management, regulatory compliance and strategic resource management.

Dr. Ogugua was born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ogugua of Odobo Village, Nzam, and was educated at Community Primary School, Nzam and St. Charles Special Science School, Onitsha.
